Some characteristics of aluminum 6063
Aluminum alloys with different alloying components, as well as those with the same components but varying contents, exhibit distinct properties. To differentiate aluminum alloys by their components and component contents, the international community has assigned a unique designation to each type of aluminum alloy. These consistent designations facilitate more convenient communication and transactions.
Today, let’s discuss the properties of 6063 aluminum materials, which are widely seen around us. 6063 aluminum materials are made from alloys with the 6063 designation. 6063 belongs to the 6-series alloys and is an aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy. The magnesium content ranges from 0.45% to 0.9%, and the silicon content is between 0.2% and 0.6%. Although the total alloy content is very low, it significantly alters the performance of aluminum. Silicon enhances the hardness of the aluminum alloy, while magnesium improves its corrosion resistance.
The hardness of 6063 aluminum materials ranges from 8 to 12 HW, with a tensile strength of ≥205 MPa, a proof stress of ≥170 MPa, and an elongation of ≥7%. These properties are considered moderate among 6-series aluminum alloys.
6063 aluminum materials have excellent corrosion resistance, and their antioxidant performance can be greatly enhanced through surface treatment. When used in harsh outdoor environments, their service life can reach more than 25 years.
6063 aluminum materials also have strong plasticity and good extrusion formability, so the 6063 designation is the primary choice for extruded profiles. Almost all architectural profiles and industrial aluminum profiles are made using 6063 aluminum materials.

What is a pipelined aluminum profile?
Pipeline aluminum profiles may not be very familiar to many people, but when it comes to industrial aluminum profiles, everyone must know them. In the eyes of many people, industrial aluminum profiles are just aluminum alloy profiles used for building frames in industry. However, for aluminum profile manufacturers, the scope of industrial aluminum profiles is relatively wide. In addition to frame aluminum profiles, there are also some cabinet profiles, radiator aluminum profiles, equipment beam aluminum profiles, frame aluminum profiles, various aluminum profile parts, etc., which all belong to industrial aluminum profiles. And pipeline aluminum profiles are the industrial aluminum profiles well-known to the public, that is, the square aluminum alloy profiles with grooves on all four sides like 3030 and 4040 types.
Because this kind of aluminum profile is often used in assembly line workbenches and various assembly line equipment, it is habitually called pipeline aluminum profile. Pipeline aluminum profiles have both square and rectangular cross-sections. Almost all pipeline aluminum profiles have these characteristics: square, symmetrical, with concave notches on all four sides, and holes in the middle. So pipeline aluminum profiles can be recognized at a glance.
